Effective August 16, 2026 — this policy explains how OneTapPOS collects, uses, and protects your information.
1. Introduction
OneTapPOS Inc. (“OneTapPOS”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) provides an online store builder, point-of-sale, inventory, payments, and business management app and website (together, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to our website (onetappos.com), our web portal (app.onetappos.com), and our mobile applications (together, the “Platform”).
By creating an account or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Platform.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information in the following ways:
a. Information you provide to us
- Account information: your name, email address, phone number, password, and business name when you register for an account.
- Business and store information: your store name, address, business category, product listings, prices, images, and inventory data.
- Payment and payout information: billing details and payment method information (e.g. card details, bank account, or mobile money number) needed to process transactions and pay out your sales. Card payments are processed by our payment processors — we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Customer and order data: information about your customers (such as name, phone number, delivery address, and order history) that you or your customers enter into the Platform in order to fulfil sales.
- Communications: information you provide when you contact support, fill out a form, or otherwise communicate with us.
b. Information collected automatically
- Device and log data: IP address, device model, operating system, browser type, app version, and general usage/log data (such as pages viewed, features used, and timestamps).
- Cookies and similar technologies:we and our analytics providers (such as Google Analytics) use cookies and similar technologies to understand how the Platform is used and to improve it. See Section 5 (“Cookies and Tracking Technologies”) below.
c. Mobile app permissions
If you use our mobile app, we may request permission to access certain device features, only for the purposes described and only with your consent (you can withdraw this consent at any time in your device settings):
- Camera and photos: to let you take or upload product photos, scan barcodes, and attach images to receipts or listings.
- Storage: to save and access files such as receipts, reports, and exported data.
- Notifications: to send you order, payment, and account alerts.
- Contacts (optional): if you choose to import customer contacts, to help you create customer records faster.
d. Information from third parties
We may receive information about you from payment processors, mobile money providers, and other partners we work with to deliver the Service, consistent with their own privacy policies.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account and provide the features of the Platform;
- Process orders, payments, and payouts, and keep accurate transaction records;
- Communicate with you about your account, orders, and updates to the Service;
- Provide customer support and respond to your requests;
- Monitor, maintain, and improve the security, performance, and reliability of the Platform;
- Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
- Understand how the Platform is used, through analytics, to improve our features;
- Send you service updates, and, where you have opted in, marketing communications; and
- Comply with our legal obligations and enforce our terms.
6. Data Storage, Security and Retention
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction, including encryption of data in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations (including tax and accounting requirements), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- Request deletion of your personal information or your account;
- Request a copy of your information in a portable format;
- Object to, or request that we restrict, certain processing; and
- Opt out of marketing communications, using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us.
You can update most account and store information directly within the app or web portal. To exercise any of the rights above, contact us using the details in Section 11 below. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and as required by applicable law.
8. Children's Privacy
The Platform is intended for business owners and is not directed to children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
9. International Data Transfers
We may store and process your information in countries other than the one in which you live, including through our service providers. Where we transfer information internationally, we take steps to ensure it receives an appropriate level of protection, consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.
10. Third-Party Links and Services
The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services, including payment processors and social media platforms, that are not operated by us. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing them with information.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. We will update the “Effective Date” above and, where changes are material, provide additional notice (such as an in-app notification or email). Your continued use of the Platform after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
